'1Malaysia Negaraku concept can become new starting point for unity'

KUALA LUMPUR: All forms of extreme instigation for the gain of an individual or for any particular group must be removed from the minds of Malaysians.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said today, under the 1Malaysia Negaraku concept, he hoped Malaysians would not only unite, but safeguard the prosperity of the nation together.

“With the 1Malaysia Negaraku concept, we will remove all ideologies that discourage disunity, through the understanding that Malaysia belongs to us all,” he said in an audio clip posted on his website, www.najibrazak.com.

Najib said the launch of the 1Malaysia Negaraku icon — the combination of the 1Malaysia philosophy and the Negaraku initiative — in March this year, brought a deep meaning.

The 1Malaysia philosophy brought together the idea of unity that celebrates diversity among the people, he said, while the Negaraku initiative would be greeted with the chant of “Malaysia!” by those who love the country.

“The combination of both concepts is to avoid confusion that the 1Malaysia philosophy introduced in 2009 had been forgotten.

“The 1Malaysia Negaraku concept can become a new starting point for unity among Malaysians, in conjunction with our 60th National Day celebration,” he added.
