Parents show support for their children sitting for the PT3 exam

A father’s love knows no boundaries.

For Rosli Abdul, 47, taking a week leave from work, just to lend moral support to his son, Irfan, 15, one of the candidates of the Form Three Assessment (PT3) students who sit for the examination starting today, is just part of his duties as a father.

“I just want to focus on my son and give him all the support he needs. It’s one of the important events in his life and I want to be there for him,” said the doting father who works as a technician at a factory in Seremban.

“I think I am more nervous than my son. To me, PT3 is very challenging and I feel that my son needs undivided moral support from his surroundings especially from family members.

I can only pray that everything will be smooth sailing for my son,” he said adding that he is planning to take another leave to accompany his eldest child, who will sit for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) this year.

Meanwhile for mother, Jamilah Arshad, 49, she hopes that her presence during PT3 examination will help to motivate his son to excel in the examination.

“My son, Muhammad Affendi Azmi has been working hard to prepare for the examination since last year. As a mother, of course I pray for his success,” she said.

“I don’t mind accompanying him to school during the examination as I want to show my support to him. But at the same time, I don’t want to pressure him and I believe he will give his best,” she said.

A total of 17,283 PT3 candidates from the state sat for the PT3 examination which begins today.

Of the total, 15,626 candidates are from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan, 703 private candidates, 453 candidates are from Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM), government religious school (482), as well as private (19).
