Former JB mayor named State Financial Officer

JOHOR BARU: Former Johor Baru mayor A. Rahim Nin was officially appointed the new State Financial Officer today.

Rahim’s swearing-in ceremony and appointment letter presentation was conducted in front of the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar at Istana Bukit Serene here.

Present at the ceremony was Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, state secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani and Johor Council of the Royal Court president Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli.

On his personal Facebook page, Sultan Ibrahim posted photos of Rahim's swearing-in and the signing of his appointment letter.

During the ceremony, Rahim said that he pledged to assume his role with the utmost integrity, while upholding Islamic values and the wellbeing of people of the state.

Rahim was Johor Baru mayor for two years beginning Aug 2015.

Rahim, who was promoted to his new position on Friday, is replacing Nasir Salam, who is retiring.

Sources from the state government revealed that the vacant Johor Baru mayor position will likely be filled by former State Islamic Religious Department director Amran A. Rahman.

Rahim had earlier clocked-out of his office at the Johor Baru City Council during a special ceremony.
