2018 Budget: No more tolls at Batu Tiga, Sg Rasau, Bkt Kayu Hitam and Johor's EDL next year

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in his 2018 Budget speech today announced that toll collection at several toll plazas in Selangor, Johor and Kedah will be abolished from Jan 1, next year.

Lawmakers, from both side of the political divide, who were attentively listening to Najib reading out the proposal, cheered upon hearing the announcement.

The toll stations affected were Batu Tiga and Sungai Rasau in Shah Alam, Bukit Kayu Hitam in Kedah and the Eastern Dispersal Link in Johor.

Najib said: "A good news for highway users in Selangor, Kedah and Johor. Beginning January 1, 2018, the government has agreed to firstly, abolish the toll collection at Batu Tiga in Shah Alam and Sungai Rasau, both in Selangor.

"Secondly, to abolish the toll collection in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah and lastly, at the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) in Johor."
