KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is more than just a Deputy Prime Minister, he is undoubtedly a loyal companion, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
At the tabling of the 2018 Budget, Najib paid tribute to Zahid, who became his deputy in 2015.
"Everything will be possible when there's sincere cooperation in a team.
"I'm lucky as I not only have a deputy prime minister, but more than that, a loyal friend, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi," he said at the Parliament here on Friday.
Najib also expressed gratitude to his Cabinet and Barisan Nasional leaders in assisting him administer the country.
"So swear and declare that even though one’s arm is severed from the form, even if our legs no longer have life, the rakyat’s trust and hopes, which we hold, we should never let go and surrendered to the Opposition," he said.
