PM revels in warmth, meaningfulness of Kedah visit

ALOR STAR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has described his working visit to Kedah today as full of warmth and meaning.

Najib, who kicked-off his trip by having breakfast at a stall serving authentic Kedah dishes, said the delicious food could not be found anywhere else.

"I can feel the warmth and hospitality of Kuala Kedah folks, and taste local food such as 'gulai ikan temenung' and 'peknga'.

"This type of food is hard to find in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya," he said in a short speech after breakfast with representatives of fishermen and farmer organisations at Pengkalan Ikan Kampung Seberang, Kota Kuala Kedah here.

Najib said that his visit is allowing him to experience the daily lives of locals.

Meanwhile, representative from a farmers group, Ishak Taib, said Najib was attentive and listened to the plight of farmers and fishermen in the area during their meeting.

He said Najib told them that he will look into the requests that they had submitted.

"It clearly shows that he listens to us and his presence here today proves how much he cares about our welfare," he said.

Ishak added that the farmers also welcome the RM200 monthly aid, as announced by the Prime Minister in the recent 2018
