Arrive as early as 4 hours before departure to avoid congestion, says AirAsia

KUALA LUMPUR: Passengers flying with AirAsia and AirAsia X during the school holiday period are advised to be at the airport at least three hours prior to their scheduled departure for a hassle-free holiday.

In a statement today, AirAsia said, being at the airport as early as four hours before departure time would allow passengers to clear all travel formalities and avoid the expected congestion due to the surge in the number of travelers during this period.

“AirAsia would also like to remind guests to conduct self check-in via our web, mobile or kiosk services for a smoother journey at the airport, as there will be upgrading works involving several counters at the klia2 starting Nov 20.

“Web, mobile and kiosk check-in services are available from 14 days and up to one hour prior to departure for all AirAsia flights and up to four hours prior for all AirAsia X flights,” it said.

Meanwhile, the airline said passengers could use its self-service options, including the self check-in and self bag-tags at the airports, including klia2, Langkawi International Airport, Penang International Airport and Senai International Airport.

It said each guest (except infants) would be allowed to bring one piece of cabin baggage (no larger than 56x36x23cm in dimension) and one laptop bag/handbag/small bag on board, weighing no more than 7kg.
