MAHB celebrates World Children's Day with SK Subang kids

SHAH ALAM: Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Subang pupils were feted with various fun activities organised by Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), in conjunction with the World Children's Day celebration today.

Themed "Aspirasi Heroku", the event was a corporate social responsibility effort by MAHB to create cheerful atmosphere for the pupils as well as the communities staying near the airport's vicinity.

Malaysia Airports Sdn Bhd general manager Suhaimi Mubin said it was their hope and mission to inculcate better and cheerful learning environment for the pupils by organising such programmes under their CSR projects.

"Previously, we had organised similar programmes at primary schools located within the airports' vicinity.

"Apart from this, we also provide assistance to the people during natural disasters like floods.

"We will continue to provide such assistance to schools within the (airport) area and we hope that the pupils will be motivated to come to class with much better learning atmosphere," he said.

Various activities were lined up during the celebration including rugby and archery clinics, performances by the pupils, food and ice cream trucks, game stalls, face painting, photobooth, movie and many more.

Malaysia Airports also donated RM50,000 to the school for the refurbishing works of the primary six classrooms.

"The condition of the classrooms are quite and paints on the walls have faded.

"With the donation and help from the communities, will fix and refurbish the classrooms so that the primary six students will have better learning environment especially those who will be sitting for their Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination next year," Suhaimi said, adding that the works will be completed by end of this year.

SK Subang headmaster Muhammad Fadzli Kamarudin thanked MAHB for their support.
