KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Amanah Negara vice-president Datuk Husam Musa said he had not received any information from police on his son’s remand for allegedly possessing drugs.
The Salor assemblyman, in a statement uploaded on his Facebook account, said he only knew that his son, Ahmad Syafi, was remanded when someone sent him a Whatsapp message at 5.22pm today.
“Until now, I have not received any official notification from police over the arrest. Police also did not notify me that my son will be brought to the court for remand this morning.
“I was also not informed where my son is now,” he said.
Husam said he was told by a neighbour that his son was arrested by a group of men on Saturday afternoon.
“I will release a full statement once I meet with my son,” he added.
It was reported that a 29-year-old son of an assemblyman was arrested after police found 200 methamphetamine pills on him in front of a house in Jalan Pasir Mas–Salor, Kampung Jelutong.
A team from the Kota Baru Narcotics Department found a blue plastic bag filled with 198 red-coloured pills and two green-coloured pills believed to be drugs on the man at 3.30pm.
