How I wish my parents are still alive to share my UPSR result - Nur Fazlul Ain

KUALA PILAH: "I am sad to see how my friends came with their parents today to collect their Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR).

How I wish my parents were still around to accompany me,” said Nur Fazlul Ain Azizan, the youngest child to, Azizan Sahari, 43, and Norbaiti Awang, 44, who were killed in a freak accident along Jalan Kuala Pilah-Juaseh on Aug 10.

The 12-year-old pupil from SK Batu Kikir here, was only accompanied by his elder brother, Mohd Amirul Aiman, 17, and her aunt, Zainun Awang, 54, when she came to collect her UPSR result, announced today.

“I have accepted the tragedy as fate but when I saw my friends with their parents today, I suddenly feel so sad. I miss my parents so much and honestly the tragedy had affected my focus in the examination,” said Nur Fazlul, who managed to get 2Bs, 2Cs and 2Ds in her UPSR result.

“This will not stop me to do better in the future. I won’t give up to achieve my ambition to become a teacher one day,” she said.

Nur Fazlul added, she plans to continue her secondary school at Sekolah Menengah Agama Haji Muhamad at Kampung Jambu Lapan, Bahau next year.

“Although I did not achieve my target for my UPSR, I will continue to work hard as I want to follow the footsteps of my sister, Nur Shamilatul Akhma, 20, who is currently studying at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) and brother, Mohd Aqmarul Hisham, 19, who is now pursuing his studies at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Segamat,” she said.

“I want to do well and be successful so that I can make my aunt proud. She has been taking care of me and my siblings like her own and sacrificed a lot since the passing of my parents,” she said

Meanwhile, Zainun said she is more than happy to carry the responsibility as the parents to her nephews and nieces.

“Their mother is my own flesh and blood. If not me, who will look after them? I love them as my own children and I pray for nothing but the best for them and hope that they will be successful one day,” she said.

In the Aug 10 incident, two huge tyres, weighing about 150kg, had apparently came off from a lorry and hit the couple who were on a motorcycle, killing them on the spot.
