UiTM students help foster importance of education via 'Youthful Bonding' programme

KUALA LUMPUR: A group of students from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) recently took time off to promote the importance of education and knowledge among primary school students through its "Youthful Bonding" event.

Event director Muhammad Ariffudin Abdul Wahab said the programme was aimed at educating the younger generation on the importance of knowledge-seeking for a brighter future.

“I believe all young people share a similar desire to build a good future in life. This community service programme is essential towards building motivation for the students in reaching for a higher level of studies right after they finish their school.

“The programme activities were designed to help students think more creatively and critically in solving problems from a very young age,” he said.

A total of 70 Standard Four and Six students from SK Raub Indah in Pahang participated in various activities to foster healthy lifestyles and teamwork. The activities included aerobics, hockey, mural-painting and rope-pulling.

Sessions were also held to motivate the pupils on the importance of learning and to practice creative thinking.

SK Raub Indah school principal Amir Hamzah said the programme provided an understanding to the younger generation that those with high academic achievements will always have an opportunity to further their studies to tertiary level.

“We will make sure that our students continue to improve in their academic performance and excel in other aspects in life.

“This is a great effort and collaboration between the university students and our school in order to attract young primary school students to put education as their main goal to achieve success.

“I hope this programme will continue in the future and more students can join and benefit from it,” he said.
