PUTRAJAYA: Prof Datin Paduka Aini Ideris has been re-appointed Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) for another two-year term beginning Jan 1, 2018.
According to a statement from UPM’s Corporate Strategy and Communications office, Aini received the official reappointment letter from Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh recently.
“With this appointment, I will continue to improve UPM’s achievement and reputation as a top research university,” she said.
Aini was first appointed as UPM Vice-Chancellor for a two-year term on Jan 1, 2016.
Among UPM’s achievements during Aini’s term as Vice-Chancellor was attaining 229th place in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2017/2018 as well as maintaining its position as the second best university in the country, improving its position for four years in a row. -- Bernama
