ALOR STAR: The body of a 22-year-old man who was reported missing yesterday after he slipped and fell into the Sungai Kedah, was found at 5.28pm today.
Ho Chun Chian’s body was found by the search and rescue team mounted by the Fire and Rescue Department about 10 metres from where he fell near Alor Mengkudu at 11.30am yesterday.
Ho, a supervisor for a construction company, fell into the river while doing surveying work for a bridge construction project that was to be carried out at the site.
The department’s operation commander Rahimi Ali said the victim’s body resurfaced when they were carrying out the search within a 5km radius from where he was last seen.
He said Ho’s body was handed over to the police for further action.
Meanwhile, Ho’s father Ho Kam Foo, 50, who joined the search said his family waited patiently at the scene for his son’s body to be found.
“We came from Tikam Batu in Sungai Petani when we heard of the incident. The last time we saw him was when we had a family dinner last week to celebrate my birthday,” he said.
