KOTA BELUD: A continuous downpour since early Monday evening brought flood to 16 villages here today.
The affected villages are Bobot, Kota Belud, Siasai, Gunding, Tempasuk 1, Taun Gusi, Linau, Karanjangan, Sembirai, Kawang-Kawang, Labuan and Menunggui.
Flood also hit low-lying areas of Wakap, Tanjung Pasir, Lingkodon, and Sadok Sadok.
A state Fire and Rescue Department spokeman said as at 10pm, the villages remained flooded and three roads were impassable.
The roads leading to Kampung Bobot, Linau and Siasai were inundated by floodwaters.
The department said firefighters were in the process of assisting in the evacuation of flood victims to safer ground.
Meanwhile, Jalan Rugading in Kota Kinabalu and Kampung Bunga Tenghilan in Tuaran were also affected by the heavy rain.
