Eight food truck entrepreneurs received helping hand from PUNB

KUALA LUMPUR: Eight food truck entrepreneurs have received financial assistance totalling RM855,000 from the Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) through a special scheme it launched in October.

PUNB chairman, Tan Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said the corporation has allocated RM10 million to help upgrade 70 mobile food truck businesses, nationwide through the syariah compliant financing scheme.

"The funding is based on syariah compliant method where they are given financing up to a maximum amount of RM150,000 with a flat rate of 4.5 per cent a year for a financing period of up to seven years.

“The total funding that were approved for the eight entrepreneurs range between RM80,000 to RM115,000, bringing it to a total of RM855,000,” he said.

The eight entrepreneurs who received the cheque were Srimah Malina Afrigontoro, Abdul Hafiz Abdullah, Marini Suhaili, Raja Rezman Shah Raja Ahmad Feizal, Amalia Abdul Aziz, Ina Fizliana Ahmad, Mohamad Noor Azlan Ab Malek and Siti Hawa Alias.

Also present during the event were PUNB’s board of directors Tan Sri Dr Mohd Saleh Che Sulong, Tan Seri Dr Wan Mohd Zahid Mohd Noordin, Mohamed Hanifah SM Mydin, Dato’ Jamelah A Bakar, Datuk Seri Azman Ujang and Datuk Hasbullah Wa Daud, PUNB’s chief executive officer Dato’ Azhar Ahmad and its deputy Abdul Jammi Abdul Karim.
