KUALA LUMPUR: Some 30 representatives from Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) and its concessionaires visited the New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd to understand the organisation of news media and its challenges.
The group came at 3:30pm to Balai Berita at Jalan Riong, Bangsar, for a work visit to understand the media’s role as the main source of information to the public.
LLM deputy director (development) Ir. Mohd Suhaimi Hassan said that from the visit they would understand how the media works, particularly in publishing news.
“We’re hoping to gain the media’s perspective on getting stories. What's important for us is to learn how the media works and how consumers respond," he said.
During the two-hour visit, NSTP chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Jalil Hamid led the group on a tour of the Berita Harian newsroom and NSTP’s Resource Centre.
Also present during the visit was New Straits Times group editor Datuk Yushaimi Maulud Yahya, NSTP chief commercial officer Alfian Abu Talib and Harian Metro associate editor (features) Husain Jahit.
