ALOR STAR: Bina Darulaman Bhd (BDB) aims to focus on education and home repair initiatives for needy families under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) banner next year.
Group managing director Datuk Izham Yusoff said the company will intensify collaborations with government agencies and other stakeholders to carry out the CSR programmes planned for 2018.
Izham said besides education, the state government-linked company would also be carrying out more home repair initiatives for low-income families.
"We are working with the relevant agencies at both state and Federal-level to help more needy families to repair dilapidated homes or build new homes for them.
"We are also working closely with other stakeholders including the Kedah Zakat Board to ensure a smoother process in carrying out the CSR programes because there are bound to be some technical issues especially with families living in homes not owned by them.
"We wish to make sure that the aid will directly benefit the target group," he said after the presentation of cash aid to five selected charitable organisations raised from the BDB Masters and Charity Golf 2017 held at the Darulaman Golf And Country Club today.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah presented the cash aid to Barakah Usahaniaga Muafakat Association, Jalin Kasih Sayang Association, Pendang Single-mothers Association, Al-Syifak Old Folks Home Association and School Children Welfare Council.
Each of the organisation received RM10,000.
Meanwhile, Izham said the annual BDB Masters and Charity Golf, which entered its third edition, had attracted the participation of 124 golfers including from the Klang Valley, Negeri Sembilan and Perak.
"We will continue with the event next year, since we get to promote our golf course, which is one of the most challenging turf in the north states to golfers outside Kedah and at the same raising fund to help for the charitable organisations," he said.
