50 in Triang begin new school life

SERIAN: More than 50 children became the first group of pupils to enrol at Sekolah Kebangsaan Triang here, which started classes this year.

Costing RM16.3 million, the new primary school was handed over by the State Public Works Department to the State Education Department on Sept 21 last year.

State Education Department director Rakayah Madon said
the school had six classrooms and a hostel building which could accommodate 100 pupils. Other facilities at the school include six class F teachers’ houses.

“A total of 57 pupils from Standards One Six had enrolled this year with 11 teachers to assist them,” she said recently.

Rakayah said more cleaning works needed to be done out as there were still stains on some walls at the premises.

“The department via the Serian district office would provide the necessary assistance to the new school to ensure pupils enjoy a good schooling environment,” she added.

Rakayah said the school’s intake was among 240,676 pupils who had begun their new school terms at 1,265 primary schools in Sarawak.
