Pahang man drowns at Langkawi's Telaga Tujuh waterfall

LANGKAWI: A man drowned after he slipped and fell into the river at the Telaga Tujuh waterfall here on Sunday.

Mohamad Aszuan Mohamad Nasir, 29, from Felda Keratong, Pahang had gone to the waterfall for a swim and is believed to have fallen into the river at about 9am.

His body was brought out of the river by members of the public.

Langkawi Fire Station chief Mohd Hisham Ibrahim said his team received a report on the incident at 9.15am.

“A team of seven firemen including an emergency medical rescue services unit was dispatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival, they found that the victim’s body was already taken out of the water,” he said.

Hisham added that Aszuan’s body was handed over to the police for further action.
