Don't fall for 'lucrative' job offers from overseas, says Azeez

TAWAU: Kelab Putera 1Malaysia (KP1M) has advised youths in rural areas to be wary of recruiters offering attractive and lucrative-paying jobs overseas.

Its president Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said the club has been receiving complaints from parents and victims' families that their children or family members had fallen prey to the job scam.

He said recruiters used the lure of huge salary and paid travel to entice young job seekers.

"They are promised the moon and the stars and I have heard of Malaysians who went to Australia to become fruits pickers but end up being cheated,

“Youngsters need to be more careful these days in making decisions,” he told students and teachers at SK Kalabakan here, during a Happy to School programme today.

He urged victims of such scam or those who have been approached by such recruiters to lodge a police report.

On the charity programme, he said it has been implemented in 78 parliamentary constituencies and benefited 100,400 students.
