KUCHING : Press secretary to Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim has refuted a social media posting suggesting that she was suffering from a serious health problem.
The rumours went viral when a social media user caught wind that Rohani, who is also the Batang Lupar Member of Parliament, had sought treatment at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) here recently.
Her press secretary, Kamarul Farid Kamaruddin, said the minister went to the hospital for normal checks.
“The report claiming that the minister was rushed to the hospital is not true.
“The posting allegedly quoting her political secretary Saifuddin Matsah and senior secretary Reza Rizvy confirming that Rohani was ill is also not true.
“She went to the hospital because she was suffering from normal fever,” he said.
Rohani, who was announced as the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Wanita wing deputy chief, today attended the party’s 14th Triennial Delegates’ Conference at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching here.
