KR1M 2.0 set to change people's perception of Trade Ministry: Hamzah

PUTRAJAYA: The launching of 1Malaysia People's Shop 2.0 (KR1M 2.0) this month is set to change people's perception on the efforts taken by the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry to help Malaysians.

Its minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said the initiative will definitely serve as an eye-opener for the people to see and understand the efforts taken by the ministry to help improve lives.

"When we wanted launch the KR1M 2.0, people were sceptical. They said the first one was a failure, the second will also be a failure.

"But today, many people have come to me to say that the initiative is the brightest initiative by the ministry.

"Therefore, for us, the 2.0 initiative is a turning point because previously people viewed us as a problematic ministry but today we are viewed as a ministry that helps the people," he added.

Hamzah was met at 2017 KPDNKK Excellence Awards (APC) Ceremony where 373 of the ministry's staff were awarded with the APC.

He also said the ministry's officers must also play a role to eradicate negative perception and criticism by certain quarters on the economic situation of the country.

He added that these officers must be responsible to convey the actual situation of the country to the people in line with the spirit of a 'warrior' to uphold the truth.

"The country's economic growth has been positive and incentives given to civil servants proved that the current government is capable of managing and administering the country well.

"False allegations that the country is bankrupt and that it needs to be saved is merely a lie to incite the people," he added.

Hamzah said this year, is also an important year to determine the future of the country.

"I hope everyone will stand together to support the current government to continue implementing various agenda and initiatives for the people and the country," he added.
