Those whose BR1M application was rejected can appeal from next month

CYBERJAYA: Malaysians whose 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) application was rejected this year, can appeal for the aid from next month.

Applications for the appeal must be sent to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB), said Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani today.

"Those who did not receive BR1M this time around, can send their appeal for consideration beginning April.

"The IRB will decide on the next process after receiving the application," he told reporters after attending the 'Hari Hasil 2018' at IRB headquarters here today.

Also present were Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah and IRB chief executive officer Datuk Seri Sabin Samitah.

Some RM6.3 billion were allocated for BR1M disbursement to some seven million recipients throughout the country.

The first phase of disbursement kicked-off in stages since Monday, while the subsequent disbursement will be in June and Aug this year.
