Noor Rashid's term as DIGP extended for another year [NSTTV]

PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim's term has been extended for another year.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed this after the Home Ministry’s monthly assembly and Excellence Award ceremony here today.

Zahid, who is also Home Minister, said the ministry was waiting for consent letter from Yang di-Pertuan Agung Sultan Muhammad V.

Noor Rashid was due to retire on March 17.

He was appointed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police on Dec 1, 2014, replacing his predecessor Tan Sri Mohd Bakri Zinin who retired on Sept 7, 2014.

Prior to that, he headed the Bukit Aman Narcotic Criminal Investigation Department.

Noor Rashid, who is from Yan, Kedah, graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree from Universiti Malaya.
