Ex-Felda chairman, DG authorised KLVC to develop Jalan Semarak

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Felda chairman and its director-general were the persons who signed the full power of attorney letter (PA) to authorise Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC) to develop 24 lots of its land in Jalan Semarak, the Dewan Rakyat was told.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Razali Ibrahim said without the intention to point fingers at others, the names were stated in the government issued forensic audit report to investigate the Felda land scandal.

The then Felda chairman was Tan Sri Isa Abdul Samad and director-general Datuk Faizoll Ahmad.

Razali said this in reply to a supplementary question by Datuk Fauzi Abdul Rahman (PKR-Indera Mahkota) on names listed in the report.

"My reply was not to indicate who’s right and wrong as the investigation is still ongoing. I said this as the matter has been raised and there were many suggestions and findings in the forensic audit," he said.

Previously there was no confirmation on who had been responsible to sign the letter of authorisation, and Felda chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Samad had kept mum on the matter. -- Reporting by Farhana Syed Nokman, Nor Ain Mohamed Radhi, Mohd Anwar Patho Rohman, Idris Musa, Rizanizam Abdul Hamid and Lukman Arif Abdul Karim
