Stop blaming govt for your own mistakes, PPBM told

PADANG TERAP: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) should not try to shift the blame for its mistake in not complying with the Registry of Societies’ (RoS) requirements by making comparisons with the postponement of Umno party elections.

Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said PPBM should not have questioned why RoS had allowed Umno to postpone its party election as the situations were different.

He said as a former minister holding various portfolios, PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin should understand that RoS procedures and regulations must be followed.

“Just comply with RoS rules and regulation. No need to compare it with Umno because we abided with all the rules and regulations set by RoS.

“The way I see it, PPBM was trying to shift the blame onto the government by accusing RoS of practising double standards,” he said after handing 1Malaysia People’s Aid vouchers to 270 people here today.

He was commenting on a statement by Muhyiddin in a news portal that RoS was practicing double standards by allowing Umno to postpone its party elections until next year.

Mahdzir who is also the Padang Terap Umno division chief said RoS had allowed Umno to postpone its party elections because the party had complied with its rules.

“Just because they are now in the opposition camp, they want to blame the government for their own failure.

“This is the how the opposition in this country behaves, putting all the blame on the government when it did not follow the rules. If it did, such a thing would not happened,” he said, adding that it could be the opposition’s strategy to blame the government for its mistakes.
