That is the message from the people of Perlis when commenting on the federal government's move to develop the Perlis Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) here.
The people here said they are grateful for UTC Perlis which is located at Kampung Sena here as it had made life much easier for them since the commencement of operations on October 23.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today opened the UTC building comprising four blocks which offer nine service clusters.
Marketing officer Marhisyam Abdul Razak, 36, said the Perlis UTC will definitely save the people's time, energy and money since all the government agency services are placed under one roof.
“Before this, I had to go to the state Road Transport Department headquarters in Jejawi to renew my driving license and to replace MyKad, I have to travel to Seriab which is located 20 kilometres away.
“However, since Perlis UTC commenced operations, everything is placed under one roof and it is also even better because the counters are open beyond the normal office hours," he said.
Fashion designer Hamizah Hassan, 29, praised the UTC concept as it offers convenient services to the public at a one-stop centre.
"Before this we had to go to one place after another but with this Perlis UTC, we can get things done under one roof and the best part is there are ample parking lots in this building," he said.
A government servant Zulkafli Zakaria, 52, said besides offering hassle-free services to the public, Perlis UTC is also equipped with a futsal court and gymnasium to encourage the people to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Zettyyamillia Bakar, 46, who operates a burger stall near the building said her sales has doubled since the Perlis UTC commenced operations.
"I used to sell about 40 and 50 pieces a day but my sales has doubled to 100 daily."
