KUALA LUMPUR: A portion of the Kuala Lumpur Hospital’s forensics unit was destroyed in a fire at about noon today.
A Fire and Rescue department spokesman said that four fire trucks from Chow Kit, Hang Tuah, Setapak and Jalan Tun Razak were rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at about 12.30pm.
Firemen managed to put out the fire minutes later.
Meanwhile, hospital director Dr Nor Akma Yusuf said that the fire started in a store at the forensics unit and that all patients and staff were evacuated safely.
She added that the hospital was operating as usual while investigations are ongoing on the cause of the blaze.
