Negri's UTC a success

THE first Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Negri Sembilan is a success for the state and Federal Government as it provides the best facilities for the people.

UTC, which serves as a one-stop centre for services from the government, private sector and non-governmental organisations, is a shining example of the effectiveness of the government’s National Blue Ocean Strategy.

Located in Ampangan here, the centre is the 20th UTC. It was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak for the convenience of the people.

UTCs exemplifies the government’s concern for rural development and showed that it prioritises services that benefit the people.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the centre, a project by the Federal Government, was part of the country’s transformation plan for common facilities.

He said since the state’s UTC started operating, it had benefited people, especially those living in Ampangan, Paroi and Kuala Pilah.

He said the project was developed on premises owned by UDA Holdings Bhd due to its strategic location, which offered basic amenities and public transportation services.

It was developed at a cost of RM34 million.

The premises can house 15 government agencies.

“The increase in population and the vibrant development of the surrounding area are among factors why the area was chosen as a UTC centre.

“It will make things more efficient for the people.

“Besides that, the Ampangan food court, was almost dead,”
he said.

He said during the launch of the premises, Najib had announced the approval to build a bridge from UTC Ampangan to the food court.

He said he had approved the design for the bridge and work would start soon.

Besides UTC, the state also benefited from other government projects, including the development of the Malaysia Vision Valley covering 108,000ha of
land here, in Nilai and Port Dickson.

Similarly, the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail station in Labu, the road network from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Seremban, 1Malaysia People’s Housing Project and Phase Eight of the Village Street LIghting Project would benefit people.
