Windfall for Felda settlers

KUALA LUMPUR: A special fund worth up to RM300 million would be set up to write-off extraordinary or extreme debt of all qualified FELDA settlers for the next 5 years starting in 2018.

Felda settlers who ended up in debt from the purchase of FGV shares are also set to see whatwever they owe written off.

These, along with various other incentives offered under BN’s manifesto would benefit more than 112,000 Felda settlers nationwide.

Settlers would also be provided with special incentives of RM5,000 each.

A special grant for replantation worth up to RM7,500 per hectre will also be created for each qualified Felda settler in the next five years starting 2018.

This grant will be provided to reduce up to 70 per cent replantation debt of the settlers.

BN will also intensify the Felda 2.0 initiative through 15 plans for 2018 and 2019 with an allocation of RM300 million to create a smart community and sustainable local economy.

This initiative will be continued to all Rancangan Felda nationwide and will benefit settlers and second generations residing in Rancangan Felda.

Besides this, BN will also construct more Felda community houses, especially for the second and third generations of settlers.

The party also promises to establish one stop centre which includes childcare centres and entrepreneur centres for Felda settlers, in all Felda settlements which would be administered by the Confederation of Women Felda Settlers Malaysia.

BN will also build and upgrade 830 km of plantation roads to increase accessibility to small farms, while 422 km of roads in FELDA areas will also be improved.

Other than that, to increase road safety, more street lights, signage and road markings will also be added in FELDA settlements along 1,240 km of roads.
