Missing Kota Damansara girl found safe in Gombak

PETALING JAYA: Nurfitri Rizal, the 13-year-old girl who was reported missing yesterday, has returned home, her father said today.

Rizal Muny Riz, 37, said his daughter, who left home with a classmate, Liana, after an argument with her mother on Saturday morning was found safe in Gombak late last night.

He said Nurfitri, who is affectionately known as Fifi was in Gombak at Liana's friend's place.

"My relatives and I went to some of her friends' houses to ask around and that was how one of them told us that she was at Liana's friend's home in Gombak," he said.

Rizal said he then took her home after locating the house late last night.

"Alhamdulilah, she's safe and sound," he said.

Liana and Fifi, were both reported missing since Saturday and the parents of the girls had lodged missing person's reports the following day.

He said Fifi was getting worried when Liana left her alone at the house and did not know how to return home. She had also lost her handphone earlier.

"She seemed happy when she saw us. For now, we don't want to ask her too many questions," Rizal said.

The second child of five siblings was reported to have left their home at PPR Section 8, Kota Damansara, about 11am after her classmate came to ask her out. She threw a fit when not allowed to leave.

Ignoring her mother's instruction, Fifi left anyway with Liana.

Desperate, the family sought the help of netizens by posting the matter on the Internet.
