BALING: Lady Luck was smiling on a newly-married disabled couple here, as they won a house in a lucky draw held during the launch of the Baling People’s Housing Project (PPR) yesterday.
Muhammad Shahrul Hafizudin Abdullah, 26, and his wife, Siti Aisyah Rasyid, 18, who were married in December, consider the house their wedding gift.
"I am grateful for this. The house will give comfort to me and my wife, and God willing, to our children," he said in sign language.
Siti Aisyah, who is also deaf, said she and her husband will start saving money to buy appliances for the house in Charok Sikin here.
The Baling PPR was launched by Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar. – BERNAMA
