Pas condemns Palestinian's murder

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS has condemned the killing of Dr Fadi M. Albatsh, a Palestinian imam who was also a lecturer at the University of Kuala Lumpur.

“We express our condolences to the deceased’s family members and we will take responsibility for their affairs.

“We are saddened by the murder of a Palestinian in Malaysia.

“We should give them protection and security,” PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said in a statement.

He said the notion that Mossad and Zionist agents were penetrating the country’s borders was a disturbing thought for the people.

He added that Mossad was known for assassinating Muslim leaders throughout the world including in western countries.

Hadi pointed out that it had previously happened in the Emirates, Tunisia, and Beirut (the capital of Lebanon).

Mossad is the national intelligence agency of Israel.

Hadi urged the government to investigate the killings and be cautious with Israel.

He said Israel was known for committing acts of terrorism while hiding under the protection of major powers.

Dr. Fadi was shot dead while on his way to perform dawn prayers at a surau near his residence early this morning when two men on a motorcycle approached him at 6am.

One of the men then opened fire.

City police chief Datuk Seri Mazlam Lazim said initial investigation found that the gunman fired more than 10 shots.
