Tebrau BN head willing to fight brother to secure victory

PASIR GUDANG: Tebrau Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Maulizan Bujang will help anyone chosen to represent BN in the parliamentary constituency to win.

And, he will do so even if his brother is the opposition candidate.

“It is my duty to help BN candidates to win in Tebrau even if I have to go against my own flesh and blood,” said the incumbent Tiram assemblyman.

He said political differences would not affect his family ties.

Maulizan’s younger brother, Mazlan Bujang, was a Tebrau Umno committee member before he left to join Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia. He is slated to contest for the Puteri Wangsa state seat, which is in Tebrau.

“Anyone can be chosen to be a candidate if he is qualified and can secure a win for the party,” Maulizan said, adding that he would leave it to the BN leadership to decide whether he would be contesting in Tebrau or providing support to the ruling coalition’s candidates.

Earlier, Maulizan, who sits on the Pasir Gudang Foundation’s board of trustees, handed certificates and cash to 60 secondary students who passed the 2017 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination with flying colours at the Tanjong Puteri Golf Resort, here, today.
