Normal working days in Sarawak today, tomorrow

KUCHING: There is no public holiday in Sarawak, today and tomorrow.

The Chief Minister’s Office, in a statement today, said the state government had decided to only declare additional public holidays on May 17 and May 18.

The declaration, said the statement, is made in pursuant of Section 5 of the Public Holiday Ordinance, 1958.

“As such, the public is advised that the 10th and 11th of May are normal working days in Sarawak,” the statement said.

It was reported earlier that today and tomorrow (10 dan 11 May) as additional public holidays in conjunction with the 14th General Election.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa in a statement said that the declaration public holiday was made under Section 8 of the Public Holidays Act 1951 for Peninsular and Federal Territory of Labuan
