AYER KEROH: The Pakatan Harapan-led state government is ready to be criticised for the sake of Melaka and its people.

Chief Minister Adly Zahari said all criticisms must be accepted by any government that was formed on the foundation of democracy.

“A government must be ready to be criticised because this is part of democracy. We (the state government) must accept criticisms from any quarters and give our responses to them.

Also present were State Secretary Datuk Wira Roslan Ibrahim; State Police Chief Datuk Abdul Jalil Hassan; Hang Tuah Jaya member of parliament Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin and PH leaders.

On the appointment of the state executive councillors, Adly, who is also the Bukit Katil state assemblyman, said he expected the have a complete list before Monday to ensure smooth governance in Melaka.

“We are still in discussion, either to make changes to the exco portfolios or otherwise, including to optimise roles and responsibilities,” he said, adding the state government would ensure to fulfil its 20-pledge manifesto in the next five years.

Adly also gave his assurance to all civil servants in the state that the transition of power would not have any element of retribution.
