Immigration Department refutes report on Najib, Rosmah blacklist

SUBANG: The Immigration Department has denied that former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor have been blacklisted from leaving the country, as reported by a local news portal recently.

“They (Najib and Rosmah) are not on the Immigration Department (blacklist). The report is untrue. They are not prohibited from leaving the country,” Immigration Department director-general Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali said when contacted.

A news portal had reported that Najib and Rosmah have been blacklisted by the Immigration Department.

The claim was made based on a check of the Semakan Sistem Kawalan Imigresen (SSPI) (Immigration Control Checking System).

It was also reported that a private plane based in Indonesia was scheduled to land at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport here this morning.

The portal quoted a source saying that passengers expected to board the aircraft were believed to be the Umno president and his wife.

It is learnt that the private aircraft which was scheduled to arrive at Subang Airport at 6am is expected to fly to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, at 10am.

Meanwhile, some 100 people had gathered at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport since 5am in what is believed to be a bid to block Najib and Rosmah from leaving the country.

Astro Awani yesterday quoted an unnamed source who claimed that the two will board a private plane from Indonesia today.
