We 'roughly know' where Jho Low is, says Dr M

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the government ‘roughly knows’ where to find businessman Low Taek Jho.

He said this when asked if the government has sought any help from the Interpol to locate the businessman, also known as Jho Low, who is said to be linked to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) controversy.

"We have not seek any help from the Interpol but, we roughly know where he is." he told a Press conference at the Perdana Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya.

When asked how the government is planning to bring the businessman back to Malaysia, Dr Mahathir said: "Leave it to us, I don't go and catch people, there are agencies which are tasked to catch people".

Meanwhile, on the Pakatan Harapan's promise to set up an RCI on 1MDB in its 14th General Election manifesto, Dr Mahathir said the government has to formulate concrete charges against those involved in the issue before setting up a RCI.

“We can’t go into the (setting up of a) Royal Commission until we have some concrete charges against them." he said.
