Perak exco members start first day of work

IPOH: The 10 state executive councillors who were appointed on Saturday started work at Bangunan Darul Ridzuan this morning.

They were welcomed by acting State Secretary, Datuk Ghazali Jalal, who were accompanied by other officers and staff.

The exco members were Perak Amanah chairman Asmuni Awi (Manjoi assemblyman) and deputy Datuk Seri Mohamad Nizar Jamaluddin (Sungai Rapat); State DAP assistant secretary Yong Choo Kiong (Tronoh), Abdul Yunus Jamhari (Kuala Kurau), Dr Abul Aziz Bari (Tebing Tinggi), A. Sivanesan (Sungkai); Wong May Yin (Pantai Remis), Tan Kar Hing (Simpang Pulai), Hasnul Zulkarnain Abdul Munaim Titi (Serong) and Lee Chuan How (Pasir Pinji).

Menteri Besar, Ahmad Faizal Azumu, however was not present for a briefing by Ghazali for the exco members.

The Perak exco portfolios were expected to be finalised on the first state exco meeting on Wednesday.

Nizar, who was a former menteri besar, when met said he was eager to start work and ensure that the pledges in Pakatan Harapan (PH) manifesto were fulfilled.

“We can’t wait to serve the people and hope that we would deliver the best to all.

“I will also assist the new menteri besar, based on my experience taking the helm of the state administration for 11 months,” he said.

Hasnul Zulkarnain, who was said to have proposed for the youth and sports portfolio, said he wished to focus on the coming Malaysia Games (Sukma 2018) to be held in Perak in September.
