PM and wife break fast with PDRM members (NSTTV)

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali attended a buka puasa event with some 500 members of the Police force in Bukit Aman, here, today.

Dr Mahathir arrived at the Bukit Aman Mosque at about 7.10pm dressed in a light blue baju Melayu.

Also present were Home Affairs Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.

Spotted at the event were former IGPs Tun Mohammed Haniff Omar and Tan Sri Ismail Omar.

Also feted in the buka puasa event were police retirees.

Dr Mahathir also performed Maghrib prayers with attendees, and this event marks his first official event with the Royal Malaysian Police after taking the oath of office as Malaysia's seventh prime minister on May 10.

Apart from breaking fast, the IGP handed aid to some 80 students of Maahad Tahfiz Darul Furqan Kampung Padang Balang, Sentul.
