Another RM5k for Tabung Harapan Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur Hair Salon Cooperative Bhd collected RM5,000 from its members to be donated to Tabung Harapan Malaysia.

Its chairman A.K. Selvan said he had recently conducted a meeting with members of the newly-formed cooperative at Wisma Sambanthan in Kuala Lumpur and they had pledged to contribute some financial aid for the country’s wellbeing.

“Even though we are a newly-formed cooperative with around 100 members, we feel the need to show some support to help ease the burden of the country,” he said.

“The money is solely from our members and we care about our country. I believe this is payback time to our nation especially when our country’s finance is in trouble.”

So far Malaysians have contributed RM49,190,120.04 million to the fund as of 3pm yesterday.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced the setting up of the fund on May 30 for Malaysians to play their part in helping the government to reduce the federal debt and lialibilities totalling about RM1 trillion.
