Dr M receives special Japan World Cup football jersey from Abe

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad received a unique present from his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe today.

The gift, which was a Japan World Cup football jersey was unique as it bore the Prime Minister's name as well as the number 7.

The number 7 was chosen to symbolise Dr Mahathir's return to office as Malaysia's seventh prime minister.

Abe presented the jersey during a joint press conference by the two in Tokyo.

Dr Mahathir is on a working visit to Japan where he attended the 24th Nikkei Conference.
