HATYAI: A Malaysian tourist slipped and plunged to his death from the eighth floor of a hotel here today.
Kong Soon Keong, 29, from Kuala Lumpur died on the spot in the 9am (local time) incident from severe head and body injuries.
Kong’s body – which was clad only in underwear – was discovered on the second floor of the hotel building.
Initial investigation revealed that Kong had gone to a restaurant for drinks and returned to his hotel room in a drunken stupor at about 1am today, Hatyai Investigation Branch chief Kol Warodom Kongsuwannakhiri said.
He added that four of Kong’s friends stayed in the same hotel room, while 11 other friends were booked in four other rooms.
