KOTA BARU: After the delicacy called ‘kerbau guling’ or locally known as `kuba guling’ (Kelantanese dialect) sold like hot cakes during the recent Ramadan in Rantau Panjang, two brothers here decided to introduce a hari raya biscuit called 'kuba guling'.

The two traders Mohd Zaid Mohd, 25 and his 15-year-old younger brother Muaz introduced the biscuit after the 'kerbau guling' or rolling buffalo delicacy hit the market after it went viral in social media not only in Kelantan but also in neighbouring Southern Thailand.

Mohd Muaz said they chose to sell the biscuit at their shop in Batu 2 here since last Ramadan which received overwhelming response from their buyers.

“We decided to make and sell the biscuit after realising that the 'kuba guling' delicacy by a trader in Rantau Panjang, was sold widely during the last Ramadan.

“My family and I were assisted by our workers to make the `kuba guling’ biscuit at my home in Jalan Bayam in the first week of Ramadan.

“We are so excited to make the biscuit using chocolate and bread powder as the main ingredients and praise to God, we are happy with the sales,” said the Form Three student of Madrasah Tahfiz Al-Muqarramah.

The ninth of 11 siblings said they sold the biscuits at RM10 for each container.

Mohd Zaid said they would continue selling `kuba guling’ biscuits after the Hari Raya season following good feedback received from customers.

“We do not mind selling it after Aidilfitiri because we realised that many people like its taste,” said Mohd Zaid.
