Airport Coach contributes RM20k to Tabung Harapan Malaysia

SEPANG: Airport Coach Sdn Bhd today contributed RM20,000 to Tabung Harapan Malaysia.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke received the contribution from Airport Coach director Lee Wai Yuen during the company's 20th anniversary celebration here.

Also present was Malaysia Airports group chief executive officer Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin.

As of 3pm today, Tabung Harapan Malaysia has collected RM130.4 million.

Tabung Harapan Malaysia was set up on May 30 by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to allow Malaysians to contribute funds to ease the government’s burden in tackling the RM1 trillion national debt.

Earlier, Loke expressed his hope that in the next 20 years, the country’s public transportation system would be more developed and efficient.

“I welcome Airport Coach’s effort (in exemplifying) Japan’s (culture of) punctuality, and hope to see it as a reality (here).”

Commenting on Malaysia Airport’s 20-year partnership with Airport Coach, Raja Azmi said the company is among its pioneer partners, as it began its operations at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) from day one in 1998.

“As you know, 20 years ago, there was only one terminal at KLIA serving only 13 million passengers.

“Now, we have two terminals with the launch of klia2 in 2014 and together, the two terminals served 58 million passengers in 2017.

“KLIA is counting on its partners such as Airport Coach to continue providing high level of services to its passengers, as the airport’s passenger traffic (continues to grow) year on year,” Raja Azmi added.
