HR Ministry conducts National Labour Cost Survey

PUTRAJAYA: The Human Resources Ministry is carrying out the 2018 National Employment Returns Study and the 2017 National Labour Cost Survey to update the country’s labour profile and to identify the key indicator labour market.

The ministry, in a statement, said the survey was conducted by the Institute of Labour Market Information and Analysis (ILMIA).

“The study will guide government policy for developing efficient labour markets,” said the statement.

It said the two studies involved employers in the private sector covering all industries nationwide as stated in the Malaysian Standard Industry Classification (MSIC, 2008) and Malaysian Standard Classification of Occupation (MASCO, 2013).

The questionnaires have been distributed since May and the employers are required to answer them before July 15, it added.

"Failure to complete these questionnaires is an offence under the Employment Information Act 1953," it said.

Employers can contact ILMIA at 03-8318 2433 for further inquiries. -- BERNAMA
