Sabah state assembly approves Bill for Additional Expenditure for 2018

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah state assembly today approved the Bill for Additional Expenditure for 2018 involving RM592,310,727.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, when presenting the bill, said RM334.8 million from the amount was for account coordination to accomodate accounting regulations.

Some RM84.8 million was to settle preliminary account spent while RM250 million would go to contributions to state statutory fund.

“This means only RM257 million involves cash flow in this 2018 first supplementary expenditure estimate,” he added.

Shafie, who is also state Finance Minister, said the biggest allocation in the additional expenditure, namely RM119.3 million, was for accomodate immediate needs under infrastructure development ministry such as bulk supply rate expenses or handling of water plants statewide, as well as clearing outstanding payments to water concession companies.

Drainage and irrigation works statewide meanwhile required RM23.2 million.
