BEIJING: “I do not know whether Jho Low is in China,” said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The Malaysian premier said he really did not know of Jho Low’s whereabouts as information indicating that he was hiding in this country was just a rumour.
Recent international news reports hinted that Low Taek Jho or Jho Low, the man allegedly at the heart of the 1MDB scandal, is in this country.
Dr Mahathir was answering questions from journalists at the end of his five-day official visit to China.
Asked what he would do if Jho Low were sitting next to him at the moment, Dr Mahathir said in jest: “I will handcuff him.” — BERNAMA
