1MDB: Police have information on Jho Low's whereabouts

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Inspector-General of Police today revealed that police have information on the whereabouts of wanted fugitive businessman, Low Taek Jho or better known as Jho Low.

Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim, however, refused to reveal which country Jho Low was hiding.

"We can't confirm where he is now. We have the information, but due to the sovereignty of other country, we can't send our team there, we need assistance and the approval of the country," he told reporters in a press conference at Bukit Aman police headquarters today.

When asked whether Jho Low was hiding in a Asian country, Noor Rashid said: "This is a secret at the moment as I do not want to jeopardise the efforts that have been carried out."

In July, IGP Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said Jho Low had fled Macau.

Police had issued an Interpol red notice on Jho Low in June.

Jho Low's Malaysians passport had been cancelled by the Immigration Department based on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's request, and he is believed to be still holding a St Kitts and Nevis passport.
