Eco World prioritises people's health

KUALA LANGAT: Eco World Development Group Bhd, as a partner of the annual New Straits Times C-Cycle Challenge, is committed to promoting healthy living in all its projects.

The developer sought to incorporate the green living concept in all its property aesthetics.

Eco World Development Group Bhd chief operating officer Datuk Sundarajoo Somu, 56, said the company ’s commitment to a healthy lifestyle was reflected by the facilities it provided.

He said this concept was extended to all staff and customers who purchased properties from Eco World Development Group.

“Keeping our people healthy is not only part and parcel of our company culture. We share this practice with all our customers,” he said after the flagging-off of the New Straits Times (NST) C-Cycle Challenge 2018 at Eco Sanctuary township in Kota Kemuning near here yesterday.

Sundarajoo said all of Eco World’s projects focused on the wellbeing of the entire family, including the welfare of senior citizens and children.

“We are committed to building more than 200km of bicycle lanes in all our 18 projects nationwide. We also build cycling parks and designated areas for children.”

Sundarajoo said Eco World took its namesake seriously as it was a leading developer when it came to promoting sustainable living for the future.

“In all the developments, we will not do the typical 10 per cent of a project site for green areas. Instead, we go up to 30 per cent.

“No developer will do that because every square feet is money, but we are generous in terms of green space,” he said.

Eco World Foundation chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the property developer aimed to provide a place for people to live, work and play.

“We have partnered with Obike, the smartbike sharing system, which is available at all our projects.
